I want more, more, more !!!! CHIMA, Brazilian Steakhouse
Roll me out to the lounge, please. I felt a bit like Augustus Gloop in Willy Wonka (we just saw that performed at Pope John Paul the Great last weekend), but I couldn’t eat any more.
Like Augustus, I wanted to though. I was planning another trip to the sumptuous salad bar, but I just couldn’t do it. Besides, my husband had also stopped. Shocking! He had only tried 5 or 6 or 7 of the 16 different meats offered non-stop by the attentive gauchos.
We had an early reservation for dinner at Chima in Tyson’s Corner on Sat. Night. Dinner for 2 at such a popular place on Cinco de Mayo? I expected that it would be busy. It was filling up as we left. My husband ordered the Rodizio (meats). I decided to go for the salad bar, knowing that it included soup, smoked, artichokes, hearts of palm, asparagus, deliciously crisp broccoli, cheeses, calamari salad and so much more. Even the “I really don’t like salad or veggies” eater can’t help but fill a plate. Or so it appeared. I added a french bread roll for my salmon and then headed back to the table that was appointed with those interesting appetizers from Brazil: the cheesy-popover roll, yucca fries, and a few unidentified yummies. We slowly savored the salad bar treats. Our waiters were solicitous, available and easy-going.
When we departed, about 8 p.m, it was still light out. We could enjoy the view of the fountains outside and there were children playing in them. While I do not suggest that you have your children accompany you for that purpose, it did add a little normalcy to the Tyson feel. With construction in an already built up area, I don’t think Tyson’s is the mecca that others may. But the hidden away spot of CHIMA erased that a little. Fortunately we had not taken advantage of the valet parking so we could stroll to the parking garage. Did I say stroll or roll?
